PlayWithStakes.com is committed to making its content accessible to as many people as possible, including users with disabilities. We design and develop with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as our standard.
What We Aim For
We work toward the following on every page:
- Perceivable. Sufficient color contrast, descriptive alt text on images, captions and transcripts on video where applicable, and content that responds to text-size adjustments and zoom.
- Operable. Full keyboard navigation, visible focus indicators, no time-limited content that can’t be extended, and skip-to-content links.
- Understandable. Plain language where possible, consistent navigation patterns, predictable form behavior, and clear error messages.
- Robust. Valid HTML, semantic structure, and ARIA labels where needed so the site is interpreted correctly by assistive technologies including screen readers.
Known Limitations
We are continuously improving and not every part of the site is fully compliant yet. Known limitations we are working to address include:
- Some older review pages may use color alone to communicate status (for example, “green = recommended”). We are adding text labels alongside color cues.
- Some embedded third-party widgets (operator promo banners, comparison tools) may not be fully keyboard-accessible. Where this is the case, the same information is also available in plain text on the same page.
- Some images served from older posts may have placeholder alt text. We are auditing and updating these.
Reporting an Issue
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on PlayWithStakes — anything that prevents you from using the site, reading our content, or completing a task — we want to know. Please email [email protected] with:
- The URL of the page where the issue occurred.
- A description of the problem and what you were trying to do.
- The assistive technology, browser, and device you were using, if known.
We aim to respond within 5 business days. Where a fix is straightforward we will deploy it; where it requires a larger change, we will explain what we are doing and when we expect to ship it.
Standards and Conformance
This site is intended to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Conformance is a continuous, site-wide effort and we cannot certify every individual page meets every criterion at every moment. We test new content and code changes before publishing and audit the full site at least annually.
